Community to Community is Honored to have been chosen to begin a national relay to deliver a quilt to the people in New Orleans and the Gulf Coast that were effected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. the relay begins August 1st here in Bellingham and arrives in the Gulf South Rising Climate Convergence August 28th in New orleans. It is part of the Climate Justice Alliance's Summer of Our Power Campaign. Community to Community is also announcing that August will be the Month for a Just Transition. Michael Leon Guerrero of the Our Power Campaign will share some history of the journey and updating us on the grassroots led efforts on the new economy and combating climate disruption.
We are part of a nation wide alliance of Grass-Root POC led organizations who are resisting against the Fossil Fuel Economy and False Solutions.
C2C's Edgar Franks has been chosen to deliver the opening quilt piece to the next location in Richmond, CA on August 6th.
