An enrichment program for low income Latino immigrant and farm worker youth in Whatcom County, ages 8 to 19 years. Activities are programmed year round in 6 week sessions with emphasis on developing a space that youth can call their own, and where they can develop leadership and critical thinking skills.
Our program provides a structured and safe space for healthy play and learning to address issues important to the youth and their families. C2C leaders provide mentoring to the youth that includes structured ongoing communications with their parents.
In the spirit of Community to Community ‘s mission of growing healthy communities, working for social justice, and treating the earth with reverence, this project and its all-volunteer staff commit to mentor and educate youth to become strong leaders in our community by:
*Honoring confidence and self-esteem
*Respecting cultural values; encouraging bilingualism and multi-culturalism
*Developing community awareness and a sense of place
*Learning personal responsibility and mutual respect
*Fostering relationships with social equity
*Developing Healthy Lifestyles
*Being courageous by finding their voice
*Learning to treat Mother Earth with Reverence
